In commemoration of International Domestic Workers' Day, which falls on June 16, 2020, 2id Asia held a virtual press conference for the film Help Is On The Way, a documentary that highlights the stories of both domestic and international domestic workers, which premiered on May 11, 2020, on GoPlay and also in Taiwan. The speakers at this press conference and webinar were Eva Trisiana (Director of Placement and Protection of Overseas Workers, Directorate General of Binapenta and PKK), Imam Subali (Chairman of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Guard), Deputy for Prevention at KPK (TBC), Lita Anggraini (National Coordinator of JALA Domestic Workers), Sasha Sunu (Head of Marketing Department GoPlay Gojek),  Ismail Fahmi Lubis (Director of the film Help Is On The Way) and Documentary Film Figures Help Is On The Way Muji Rahayu & Tari Sasha. Representatives from the Never Okay Project team, several media outlets, and other organizations had the opportunity to cover the ongoing online event conducted via Zoom.

The press conference and webinar began with presentations of the opinions of the speakers regarding the film and the reality of informal domestic workers. The issue of informal work, especially domestic workers, is a topic that is rarely discussed, with many stigmas surrounding domestic workers that do not reflect reality and the low level of protection received by workers in this sector.

The director of the documentary film Help Is On The Way, Ismail Fahmi Lubis, hopes that this film can raise awareness among the public and the government about informal work and domestic workers. This goal was also supported by Mrs. Eva Trisiana, who stated that this film could serve as a means of socialization regarding domestic work.

In fact, being an informal worker in the domestic field also requires navigating various processes, where there are still many discriminations and a lack of protection for these workers. The problems faced are also complex, such as the absence of weekly holidays, unclear leave arrangements, and wages that are considered inadequate. Additionally, there are issues regarding vocational training centers (BLK) that do not all meet standards due to a lack of tutors and teaching materials.

The press conference and webinar were then closed with the hopes of the speakers regarding the political will of the Indonesian government to pass a Law for domestic informal workers, adequate protection regarding leave rights, wages that are still inadequate, and the concerns expressed by Migrant Care about the post-pandemic situation. There are fears of increasing migration and massive mobilization flows due to high levels of job termination domestically, resulting in a high number of discrimination victims in the informal domestic worker sector, especially women. It is also hoped that the discussion of informal worker topics will be taken seriously for adequate protection and that the stigma that being an informal worker in the domestic sector is not a downfall but rather provides personal development in that sector.
