December 1st is World AIDS Day. Unfortunately, the stigma of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) still strongly attaches in society, including in the workplace. Many of our friends have lost access to employment from the beginning due to discriminatory company policies. The reasons vary, ranging from concerns about being unproductive to fears of transmission.

The case of sexual harassment that occurred some time ago against a member of KPI opens our eyes to the fact that harassment also happens in the media world, including cases of violence against journalists. The world of journalism, especially investigative journalism and hard news, is a masculine world that is synonymous with violence, including sexual violence.
Cases of sexual violence in the workplace still often occur. According to data collected by the Never Okay Project, from 2018 to 2020 there were 117 cases of harassment and sexual violence in the workplace.
October 15 was commemorated as the International Day of Rural Women. In the workplace, rural women are certainly different from rural men or urban women and men. According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2020, the 2019 census showed that the participation rate of the rural female labor force (TPAK) was 53.38%, lower than that of rural men, which reached 82.21%.

The shadow of sexual violence in the film world does not only haunt artists as seen in the #metoo era. Female film crew members on the production line of films or video production industries such as videographers, artistic designers, makeup artists, and wardrobe are at risk of experiencing sexual violence. The root of the problem lies in the fact that this creative industry is dominated by men who still hold patriarchal views and have weak human resource management.
