Why Never Okay Project
Workplace sexual harassment is an issue that is rarely or even never discussed by our society. In fact, every day, wherever that workplace may be - government offices, private institutions, business offices, non-governmental organizations, communities, campuses, and many more - this practice is very complex and continues to be repeated.
It is even perpetuated and considered normal. Women and certainly men become victims who are afraid to report because they fear losing their economic source.
The Never Okay Project offers a platform that restores equality and stands for equality. We believe that sexual violence behavior in the workplace is an intolerable practice and is never okay.

The origin of the Never Okay Project
Our founder, Alvin Nicola, was working one afternoon when he received a call from his friend that she was being harassed by her boss. Worse still, after his friend tried to report it to the HR department, she was asked to keep her composure and normalize the situation if she did not want to be fired.
Several months later, Alvin found himself witnessing the incident firsthand. However, at that time, he was confused and did not know where to start. Then he began to realize a recurring pattern: the reporting process for victims is just as traumatic as the sexual harassment itself.
As a bystander, he then introduced the Never Okay Project in December 2017, as an anonymous storytelling platform that serves as a safe space for survivors of sexual harassment in the workplace.

After contributing since 2017, finally in 2025 it was officially registered under the decision of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights on April 18, 2025, with the number AHU-0002705.AH.01.07 of the year 2025 under the name Equal Work Association for Humanity.
