The Never Okay Project had the opportunity to be one of the partners for the online event Femme In STEM. With the theme ‘The New Normal’, this online event discussing the business impacts of the pandemic was held via Zoom on June 7, 2020. It was attended by around 70 participants and 4 female panelists experienced in business, namely Dr. Dina Dellyana, Triyani Utaminingsih, Ir., Elice Yunus, S.T. and Audist Subekti Ph.D, moderated by Mutiara Lusiana Purba, S.T., M.T.

In collaboration with DonaShe, the participants in this online event also contributed donations because all ‘pay as you wish’ registrations received will be donated to women affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first speaker was Dr. Dina Dellyana (lecturer and business incubator director at SBM ITB) discussing the need to build business resilience after the Covid-19 pandemic, starting from the effects of social distancing that impacts our current and future work culture to which businesses might be favored as a result of this pandemic.

The second panelist was Triyani Utaminingsih, Ir. (Human & Capital Business Development Director at Rekind) who explained how to manage hundreds of workers at PT Rekayasa Industri whose employees are spread across various locations according to their respective projects, in accordance with government work procedure policies during the pandemic. One of them is limiting office activities, monitoring productivity, and issuing travel bans for employees and their families.

The third panelist was Elice Yunus, S.T. (S&OP Lead and Personal Care Planning Director at Unilever) who discussed supply planning during the Covid-19 pandemic. She shared her experience in adjusting which products are favored and needed by the community, as well as risk calculations during the Covid-19 pandemic that ultimately led to the launch of hand sanitizer products by Lifebuoy (Unilever).

Lastly, the final panelist was Audist Subekti Ph.D (Business Director – Head of Government Affairs & Market) who explained the importance of innovation in business after the Covid-19 pandemic, which is considered an agent of deglobalization. How travel has been closed and crowded spaces and mass transport have become things to avoid. Ms. Audist also discussed what the Indonesian government plans and does regarding economic recovery after facing the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the innovations that have occurred during crises in past years up to now.

The online event Femme In Stem, which lasted one and a half hours, was then closed with the above-mentioned distinguished speakers answering several questions related to the topics discussed.
