Creating a safe, inclusive, and fear-free work environment requires the involvement of many parties. Not only the Never Okay Project, but also workplace institutions, and organizations that can ensure the sustainability of this conducive environment.

As part of this effort, Never Okay Project had the opportunity to collaborate with the National Economic Council in a socialization event on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. 

Representatives from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia (KemenPPPA) also took part in the event, represented by Margareth Robin, Assistant Deputy for Policy Formulation and Coordination of PHP.

The session, which took place offline at the National Economic Council office, was attended by staff and management of the National Economic Council. In total, there were 100 participants in attendance during the event.

Building Professional Boundaries and Interaction Ethics

The event, titled "Socialization of Interaction Ethics, Professional Boundaries, and Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Violence in the Workplace," gave Never Okay Project the opportunity to deliver education on the basic understanding and identification of sexual harassment in the workplace.

The socialization encouraged participants to understand the spectrum of harassment in the working world, ranging from physical, verbal, non-verbal, and visual, to harassment that occurs online (online).

In addition, the discussion also continued on the importance of establishing and respecting personal and professional boundaries among colleagues to prevent actions that can increase the risk of harassment occurring, or normalize harassment.

Towards a Safe Work Environment for Everyone

The presence of representatives from the Ministry of PPPA strengthened the aspect of worker protection regulations and policies, while Never Okay Project provided practical guidance from an advocacy and occupational safety education perspective.

This socialization also opened a space for discussion regarding sexual harassment in government institutions or organizations as a crucial step. This two-way discussion proved that education on violence prevention in the workplace is not just a formality, but a fundamental need to create a productive, safe, and equitable working environment.
