Jakarta (ANTARA) - The 2025 Astra Integrated Spirit for Indonesia Awards (SATU) is an effort to encourage the active role of the younger generation in building sustainable solutions that have a real impact in the fields of health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, and technology.

"Astra believes that when the younger generation is given space and trust, they are able to be the drivers of relevant solutions for society as well as an important foundation for Indonesia's future development," said Astra President Director Djony Bunarto Tjondro in a written statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.

In the field of health, the award recipient, Alvin Henri from North Sumatra, started his initiative from personal experience while pursuing medical education.

He saw the gap in access to learning between students and medical personnel in the regions compared to those in educational centers, especially in terms of the availability of updated learning materials, books, and continuous training.

Based on that situation, Alvin developed a collaborative learning space that focuses on practical and structured learning.

That initiative then evolved into Medsense, a digital medical education platform that provides learning materials, exercises, and evaluations that can be flexibly accessed by medical students and doctors.

Through Medsense, access to medical education becomes more inclusive and equitable, especially for healthcare workers outside of Java Island. This effort contributes to strengthening the quality of healthcare human resources as an important foundation for improving public health services.

In the field of entrepreneurship, the award recipient, Tatag Adi Sasono from East Java, developed Mitra Ternak Farm from the experience of facing various challenges in pioneering rural farming ventures.

Limited capital, the risk of livestock diseases, and low market confidence became obstacles that had to be faced from the start.

Based on that experience, Tatag built a technology-based livestock trust model that connects local farmers with partners from various regions, including Indonesian migrant workers. The system is designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and trust between parties.

Then in the field of education, the award recipient is Imelda Riris Damayanti from DKI Jakarta, who is concerned about the importance of strengthening efforts to prevent and address sexual violence in educational and workplace environments.

She assesses that several cases that have occurred show the need for a more comprehensive and sustainable handling mechanism.

Through Never Okay Project, Imelda developed a systemic prevention approach involving various cross-sector institutions such as educational institutions, workplaces, and professional communities.

This prevention approach is realized through the formulation of internal policies within educational and organizational institutions, the development of safe and structured reporting systems in work and educational environments, and support for survivors to receive appropriate assistance.

In the field of environment, the award recipient, Hanzalah Rangkuti from North Sumatra, sees the issue of plastic waste in the Bukit Lawang tourist area as a serious challenge for the preservation of the environment and the sustainability of the local economy.

The habit of throwing waste into rivers and the lack of integrated management affect the quality of the environment and tourist attractiveness.

To address this issue, Hanzalah built Sumatera Trash Bank as a community-based waste management solution with a circular economy approach. Through a waste savings system, the community is invited to manage plastic waste into economically valuable products.

Through the SATU Indonesia Awards, Astra strives to create a collaborative space between the younger generation, communities, and other stakeholders so that these initiatives can grow more broadly and provide long-term benefits to the community.
