16th SATU Indonesia Awards 2025: Five Young Individuals Present Real Solutions for Society
Jan 1, 2026

Astra once again held the Astra Terpadu Untuk (SATU) Indonesia Awards 2025 as a form of appreciation for the younger generation that presents real and sustainable solutions in the fields of Health, Education, Environment, Entrepreneurship, and Technology, through a strict selection and judging process.
Astra's President Director Djony Bunarto Tjondro stated that since its inception in 2010, the SATU Indonesia Awards has appreciated 792 young Indonesians and is integrated with more than 1,500 Astra Sejahtera Villages and Astra Series Villages across 35 provinces.
"This program becomes a momentum to assert the role of the Indonesian youth who possess courage, determination, and consistency in facing and addressing various issues around them through real solutions for society. This spirit and character form an important foundation for Indonesia to continue moving forward and building a more sustainable future,” said Djony.
In the field of health, this year's award recipient is Alvin Henri from North Sumatra Province. His initiative stemmed from experiences while pursuing medical education, when he witnessed the gap in access to learning between students and medical personnel in rural areas compared to education centers—especially regarding updates in knowledge, books, and ongoing training.
From there, Alvin developed a collaborative learning space focused on practical and structured learning, which then evolved into Medsense—a digital medical education platform providing learning materials, exercises, and evaluations that can be flexibly accessed by medical students to doctors. This effort aims to make learning access more inclusive, especially for healthcare workers outside Java Island.
In the field of entrepreneurship, Tatag Adi Sasono from East Java Province developed Mitra Ternak Farm after grappling with the challenges of starting a village livestock business, ranging from capital constraints, risks of livestock diseases, to low market confidence.
Armed with that experience, he built a technology-based livestock deposit model that connects local farmers with partners from various regions, including Indonesian migrant workers, to enhance transparency, accountability, and trust among parties. This model is said to contribute to strengthening the village economy, creating jobs, and building a more sustainable and integrated agribusiness ecosystem.
Meanwhile, in the field of education, Imelda Riris Damayanti from the DKI Jakarta Province highlighted the urgency of preventing and addressing sexual violence in both educational environments and the workforce. Through the Never Okay Project, she developed a systemic prevention approach involving various cross-sector institutions, including educational institutions, workplaces, and professional communities.
This approach is implemented through the formulation of internal policies, the development of a secure and structured reporting system, and support for survivors to receive appropriate assistance.
In the field of environment, Hanzalah Rangkuti from North Sumatra Province sees the issue of plastic waste in the Bukit Lawang tourism area as a serious challenge for environmental sustainability and the economic continuity of the community. In response to this issue, he established the Sumatera Trash Bank as a community-based waste management solution with a circular economy approach through a waste savings system.
As for technology, Oka Bayu Pratama from East Java Province developed SeeShark, an artificial intelligence-based application to help identify shark species quickly and accurately. This application aims to help fishermen avoid catching protected shark species while also supporting better quality fisheries data and more responsible practices.
Astra believes these five stories demonstrate how initiatives born from concern for surrounding issues can grow into widely impactful solutions. The company also expresses its commitment to continue supporting the active role of the younger generation in promoting sustainable development, in line with support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Indonesia.
