Webinar: Celebration of International Youth Day 2020 by UNFPA Indonesia

On Sunday (16/08), the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and UNFPA Indonesia held a celebration International Youth Day. This event invited several youth organizations, one of which is the Never Okay Project.
The agenda for International Youth Day 2020 discussed youth involvement in addressing challenges and humanitarian issues during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the form of a live streaming on YouTube, IYD 2020 opened with a series of videos featuring youth members of YAP UNFPA Indonesia defining the meaning and importance of education according to their personal views as a form of global action. The equal access to education for everyone, participation, and engagement of youth on issues such as gender equality, climate, and human rights were among the messages conveyed.
Moderated by Rachel Amanda, the online event with speakers Margianta Surahman Juhanda Dinata (One Young World Ambassador), Meilaine Osok (Co-founder of Papua Muda Inspiratif), Rizky Ashar (Youth Engagement UNFPA Indonesia), and Woro Srihastuti Sulistyaningrum (Director of KPAPO Bappenas) encouraged youth to reflect on youth participation in global forums during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Starting from the importance of having critical thinking, the involvement of youth collaboration movements in various fields, the presentation of youth responses to COVID-19 from surveys conducted by YAP UNFPA Indonesia to meaningful expression in development. Followed by QnA from the participants of IYD 2020. This event concluded with a performance by Nufi Wardhana and the announcement of the winners of the video competition held by UNFPA Indonesia.
